2. The types we use
| Type | What it does | Tools | When it loads |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remembers your cookie choice | Our own record, kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie | When you make a choice in the banner |
| Essential | Protects our forms from spam and automated submissions | Cloudflare Turnstile | When a page with a form loads: the contact, apply and data request pages. The forms cannot be protected without it. |
| Essential | Runs the guided tour: your progress, the name you give, your conversation with the guide and your notes, so the tour can continue across pages and the inquiry form can be filled in for you. Also remembers if you chose “Not now” on the tour offer. | Our own records, kept in your browser: session storage (“microsive.tour”, “microsive.tour.handoff”, “microsive.tour.autostart”), deleted when you close the tab, and local storage (“microsive.tour.offer”), which only records that you dismissed the offer | When you press Tour or start the tour, or dismiss its offer |
| 3D scene | Shows the 3D scene on the homepage | Spline | When the homepage loads |
| Functional | Shows available times for a call and takes the booking | Cal.com, in a booking frame served by Cal.com. Nothing is stored in this site's own storage; Cal.com may keep its own cookies or storage inside its frame | Only when you click “Book a 30-minute call” on the contact page. Clicking it is your choice to load it. |
| Analytics | Shows how visitors use the site, including session recordings of clicks and scrolling | Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity | Only after you allow Analytics |
| Advertising | Measures whether our ads lead to inquiries, and shows our ads to people who visited the site (remarketing) | Google Ads, Meta pixel | Only after you allow Advertising, and never on our careers pages |
Session recordings: Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used. Text typed into form fields is masked and not recorded. [CONFIRM: masking is set to Strict in the Clarity project the US site uses (GA-12)]
Advertising features: with your permission, we use remarketing audiences in Google Ads and Meta, Google enhanced conversions, and Meta advanced matching. If you send the inquiry form after allowing advertising cookies, your email and, if you gave one, your phone number are sent to Google and Meta in hashed form, a code that cannot be turned back into your details but can be matched to accounts they already hold, so they can link the inquiry to our ads. This never happens for job applications or data requests. The inquiry form repeats this beside its fields. What this means for your rights is in section 7 of our privacy policy.
[CONFIRM: full list of cookie names, providers and durations, generated from the tags deployed on the US site (GA-22)]
3. Your choice
Analytics and advertising cookies do not load until you allow them. In the banner you can choose Reject non-essential, Accept all, or Choose what to allow and pick each type for yourself. You can change your choice at any time with “” in the website footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser.
Your choice stands until you change it. We will not ask again, unless you clear your browser data, in which case your choice is cleared with it, or we change the types of cookies described here, in which case we ask you to choose again.
When you turn a type off, we stop loading those tools from your next page load. Cookies they have already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them, which you can do in your browser settings.
Careers pages: advertising tools never load while you are reading a job page, whatever you chose, so applying for a job does not put you in an advertising audience.
Browser signals: this website does not respond to Do Not Track signals. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of advertising: advertising tools do not load, whatever you choose here. Analytics stays off unless you allow it.
4. The record of your choice
Your choice is kept in your browser, and a copy is sent to our own server so we can show what was agreed and when. That copy holds only the types you chose, the time, and which version of this wording you were shown. It holds no name, email address or IP address, so it cannot be traced back to you. We keep it for 3 years and then delete it.
